I'm being interviewed as I write

There are two really cool people standing behind me with a camera right now, and hopefully I managed to get out all the cool stuff about Wegener's that you all want to know. Check it out on Global tonight at 6pm. Yikes. Hope I do you proud. Have a good one fellow Weggies and friends.

  1. Hello, I was very excited to see the story tonite on Global. My father has had the disease for about 20 years. I'm sure you can imagine how difficult it was to diagnose him that long ago. He is 81 now, and is in remission. His doc says it's just incredible how my dad has battled and won this fight. Best wishes for your continued health.

  2. My dad was just released from the hospital today. He has been in and out a few times in the last few years. My sister sent me an email explaining that he was diagnosed with Wegener's and what it is. I was reading her email when Global News came on with your story. I could not believe the coincidence!

I wish you all the best as you continue to battle this illness and shed light on it.

  3. Well done! You got the important points in during the time they gave you in the final edit. This isn't so easy, you know. I think the most important of these points is: What does life mean? Well, whatever it means, it is all more vivid once you've had to confront your mortality, yes? Cute and meaningful "carrot" too!

  4. Thanks Al. You rock.
Anonymous who just got the news of your dad. I'm so sorry to hear this, right now for you are the crazy days. It does get better - I promise. My first days were totally insane. It's quite a ride. It still goes on, but now I'm steering the car a little more. If you or your dad have any questions or just need to talk or vent, feel free to contact me at madcap01@telusplanet.net. Anonymous with your dad who's had WG for the last 20 years, THANKS, I love hearing that. I'm putting together an anthology of stories if he wants to contribute you can contact me at the above email or click on the "The Book" tab and you can get the outline we're all following to tell our stories, and he can submit it when/if he likes.

Thank you all for your comments. It means so much to me that I can reach out and connect with other people on this crazy ride. But it all happens for a reason, and we never know what that reason is until we get to the other side.... however with each passing day I'm thinking I'm closer to knowing what things are all about. Don't get me wrong... I'm still a ways ways away.
